In researching our first story on a marijuana seller running for Jefferson County Commission, we noticed what appeared to be irregularities at Greg Brotherton's Sea Change Cannabis store. He wouldn't answer our questions, so we've sent them to the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. You can read the story here: https://www.porttownsendfreepress.com/2018/09/19/greg-brothertons-sea-change-cannabis-our-complaint-to-the-liquor-and-cannabis-board/

17 and Pregnant--A Story in Three Parts This young woman approached us with the idea of sharing her heart during the journey of her teen pregnancy.  We don't know where she will take us, but she has our trust and confidence.  We hope and pray for her, her young husband and the baby boy who is on his way. This is something different for us.  It opens the door on lives in Jefferson County which all too often are overlooked in political reports and commentary. We are honored she chose to share this episode in her life with our readers. You can follow Ravyn's story here, at our new website: https://www.porttownsendfreepress.com/2018/09/13/17-and-pregnant-a-story-in-three-parts/
Initiative 1639--The Road to Tyranny. A "gun safety" ballot measure is more about stripping constitutional rights, crippling the right of self-defense, and invading personal privacy.  Scott Hogenson's weekly column tackles one of the initiatives up for a vote this November.  You can read it at our new website: https://www.porttownsendfreepress.com/2018/09/12/initiative-1639-the-road-to-tyranny/
Just as we were searching for the right closing words to our series on how Michael Haas handled the rape case against Patrick McAllister, we received an email from the victim's brother.  She is filing a complaint against Haas with the Washington State Bar Association.  Our final installment of "Dumping a Rape Case, and its Victim," lays out all the powerful, sometimes irrefutable evidence Hass threw away when he dropped all charges and set a violent man free. You can read it at our new website: https://www.porttownsendfreepress.com/2018/09/10/setting-the-guilty-free-the-conclusion-of-dumping-a-rape-case-and-its-victim-state-of-washington-v-patrick-j-mcallister/
Fake Democracy.  Injustice for Quilcene, Port Ludlow, Brinnon and the rest of District 3.  Read Scott Hogenson's take Jeffco's strange way of electing commissioners, sometimes against the will of the people they represent.  https://www.porttownsendfreepress.com/2018/09/06/fake-democracy-in-jefferson-county/
Haas "must have been hoping she'd be worn down and go away." Part 3 of our investigation into how Michael Haas handled a rape case and its victim. "Alone and Unprotected," just up at https://www.porttownsendfreepress.com/2018/08/18/dumping-a-rape-case-and-its-victim/
